Drive Traffic to your Site with Articles

A quick, easy, free and guaranteed way to drive traffic to your website. Many people begin their online road to riches dream by starting up a website and trying to sell a product they have created themselves. They may have written an e-book, recorded a cd of original songs, or knitted some lovely potholders with pictures of cats on them. Enormous volumes of hype have been published with the claim that the internet is an easy, if not mindless, way to riches. The internet is now a global advertising grid, and millions of people surf each day for things they would like to buy, learn about, or discover. They search for the needle in the electronic haystack that suits their fancy for the moment. Shopping online has now become reasonably safe. The first problem is, how will shoppers with a credit card and the urge to shop find your website? A count as of January1, 2005, suggested there may be as many as 11.5 billion public webpages published. That was just over a year ago at the time of this writing, so that number can only be much higher today. To expose your little website selling cat potholders to prospective customers may take a little a little work. Search engines use complex algorithms (mathematical formulae) to determine if the content of a website matches its owners claims. Self-proclaimed experts who follow this route for exposure must research every day to ensure their success. The search engine companies themselves keep their algorithms secret to avoid unscrupulous marketers taking unfair advantage of the whole internet shopping and surfing experience. So what is a potholder seller to do? Search engine experts can charge upwards of $25,000 to guarantee that your site might be the first to be found when someone enters a search. That's a whole lot of lovely cat potholders. Some very easy and free methods are available to drive traffic to your website. One of them is writing simple articles. You're reading this one right now, aren't you? Hundreds of "article directories" exist on the web just for this purpose. The main and simplest thing people search for on the internet is information. People want to know about something, and often a good place to find a snippet of information is in an article directory. Thousands of 500-1500 word articles have been written and published on the internet, and people love to read them. If they are short and informative, they will become popular to read, and not too time consuming. Then once your website is up on the net, write a brief, helpful article about your product. Target the style and content of your writing to suit your friends and customers, and also yourself. The average newspaper is written for a grade 9 level reader, and tabloids are written for a grade 6 level or lower. Writing on the internet runs the whole gamut of education. Explain a problem that needs to be solved, and at the end provide a solution. Sales copy is more involved than this, but an article should be entertaining, or fit the parameters of a possible search. The most important part of the article, besides the content and the attention grabbing headline, is a live link to your website in the author's bio at the bottom. More often than not, the reader will click the link, if it is live, to see what other information might be available on that particular subject. This link must lead straight to your potholder website. A reader is less likely to copy and paste your website address into their browser if another similar article is listed in the directory. Write a short paragraph stating your expertise with cat potholders, and invite the reader to visit your website. This will be your "author's bio". If someone does read the whole article, they are often curious who wrote it, if it covers the subject they are interested in. Most article directories will accept html code in the bio box. Search for the words "article directory", and make a list of as many as you can. Most directories are free to read and submit your articles to. Registration is usually necessary, with your email as the username. Get another free email address to use specifically for article submission to avoid any trouble with spam. After you have submitted your article, it may take a few days for publication. Check back to the directory to see if your article is published and your link is working. Then do it all again. The articles will stay published forever, or as long as the directory exists. Over time, people will continue to read your article, and click back to your website. If you submit your article to 20 directories, and 40 people interested in cat potholders read it, that's 800 more potential customers from one article. If you have the time to write 20 little articles, and submit them to 40 directories, and 40 people read each one over time, well you do the arithmetic. Article submission is one easy, quick and guaranteed way to direct some website traffic your way, and at almost no cost. Give it a try, you'll be amazed.

No Traffic equals No Money

I don't like to waste time. My dad would beg to differ but I really don't like to waste time. Do you know what I learned the hard way when I starter a little business in my home town? It takes just as much time to build great business as it does a bad one. Unfortunately, I spent my time building a bad one a before I knew it I closed shop. When I started on the net I promised myself that I would spend my time building a good business this time around and not a bad one. You know what it took about the same time to do it but now I'm not only still opened but I'm booming. So if you're to invest the time now, you might as well maximize your efforts in order to get the best returns later. High-profitability keywords have a good Demand: Supply ratio. The ideal scenario is to identify a keyword with "High Demand" (i.e., lots of people are searching for information on that topic) and "Low Supply" (i.e., not many sites are supplying information on that topic). Your concept or theme should be a highly profitable niche... a "niche" concept (that people are searching for) has less competition than a more general one. This makes it easier for your well-written pages or articles to rank highly with the free Search Engines. Keep in mind that your business should excite you. Choose something that you know and love (or that you are willing to find out more about) so that writing lots of great pages or articles in the future is not a huge burden or challenge. Don't put all your eggs in one basket. Offer potential options for making money with traffic that comes to your site. This ensures a good Return on Investment on your traffic-building efforts, making every visitor to your site (even the not-so-targeted visitor) a possible income-generator. Remember investment is not just money If you are selling your own product or professional service, your goal is to find the most profitable and the most Search-Engine-friendly way possible to position your offering on the Net To me, this is the most important part of your entire online business so take the time to prepare properly rather than repair later (if you have time before you quit that is). Yes... your start will be delayed if you prepare everything before you begin. But once you have completed preparations, you'll roar ahead. Most people fail in any business because they don't plan adequately. That's three times as true for an Internet business. Bottom line, if you build poorly you will get no traffic. If you get not traffic you will get no money. Hence no traffic = no money...

Five inexpensive ways to increase your Traffic

It is quite obvious that even the best optimised site with the best copy written sales page will not make a dime without one very necessary addition. That 'addition' is Traffic.
Whilst there are many ways to generate traffic most of them cost money with no guarantees that a profit will be made once you have parted with your cash. However, there are also many ways to generate good targeted traffic which need not cost the earth and, in some cases, are even free. Here are five of the best ways to generate low cost traffic; they do involve some input but are well worth the effort.
1. Exchange Links
This is a proven way to generate traffic and a careful study of the top ranking sites on the search engines will show all of them with considerable numbers of links. It is to your advantage to ensure that all sites to which you link operate within a similar niche or theme as your own site. If you share a similar subject you will be more likely to get traffic as your site will be seen as a recommendation by the site they are on.
Another benefit to linking in this way is that your site will increase its chances of a higher ranking with the search engines. This, in turn, can help with eventually getting traffic from the search engines in addition to that from the linking site.
2. Writing Articles
There are many sites on the internet where you may submit articles (newsletters, directories, etc.) Many of these are free of cost so if cash is tight you can start submitting to these initially. If you want to save costs, you can write the articles yourself. There are many freelance writers who are willing to write for you for a small fee, but to save money, it is wise to do the articles yourself if you can.
You should write articles that closely match the theme of your site. Try to write about something you know well. Give tips and guidance learned from your own experiences. In this way you will come across as an 'expert' in your field and this, in turn, can encourage your readers to then visit your site. Always include a resource box at the end of your articles which should be a short bio about yourself and include the URL to your website.
3. Traffic Exchanges
This is a form of link exchange except that members of a traffic exchange view each others pages by surfing. Each time you view a page you gain a credit so the more pages you view the more credits you receive. Your own page is then shown to other members normally using one credit per show. Once you have exhausted your credits you may earn more by again surfing. You also have the option to purchase credits if you wish.
Traffic from exchanges is not generally well targeted and does not produce many sales but it can be used quite successfully to capture names for your subscriber list with the use of a 'squeeze' page.
4. Your Own Newsletter
Once you have subscribers (via the traffic exchanges or other means) will need to send out your newsletter on a regular basis either weekly, monthly etc. This may sound a little daunting in view of the fact that you will need to write many articles on a consistent basis. However, this should present no problem as there a many writers and sites that are more than willing to provide you with free articles so long as their resource box remains at the end of the article. Any promotions you make in your newsletter will inevitably bring traffic to that promoted site and as your list of subscriber grows so, too, will your traffic.
5. Forums
Online forums and communities abound in just about any subject you can imagine. Find several forums that relate to whatever site you wish to promote and, after joining, you should carefully study the topics under discussion and then submit your own offerings by way of answers to published questions or even a question of your own. Make sure that the forum allows you to append your resource box at the end of your posting as this is where your traffic will come from. It is important to know that you are not permitted to blatantly advertise on these forums and to do so will usually mean you will be barred. So it is important that you are allowed your bio at the foot of your posting. Do not bother with any forum where your resource box is not permitted.
Each of these methods can generate a great deal of traffic and, with the exception of the traffic exchanges, the traffic will be very targeted. The method of using articles can, over time, build traffic to really large numbers. However it is important to remember that there are no free lunches in this world. If you do not pay with money then you must substitute with time. The great thing about these five methods is that you will never waste your time - they all get results, proven time after time.

Paid to Read Sites

I just started to evaluate Paid to Read (PTR) sites and although they all claim to pay out, most I find don't, you have to redeem your earnings for advertising. Now this isn't so bad, if that is what you are looking for, although its good if you can have a choice to have the cash instead. One company I would recommend is Adpaid.com . Its free to join and they send you emails every day (sometimes with more than one ad on it) and it doesn't take too long to build up enough to get paid.

Like all these type of programs, you won't make enormous amonts of money, but every little bit helps, and it shouldn't take longer than half an hour to read all the mail and click on the Ads.

Click on the link below, its woth a look.

Get 5000 Visitors to your Site

Just joined a new exchange 5000clicks.com that after the initial qualifying period, should take no longer than half an hour, they will give you 5000 credits to your account. I noticed straight away a big increase in my visitors to my sites, so if you want to increase your numbers click on the ad below. Its free to sign up and it won't be long before you can also have 5000 visitors to your site.

5 Top Places to Maximise Traffic and Sales for Free

Do you want more traffic and sales to your site?
If so, do you want to know how to take full advantage of the internet to get your sales message out there without having to spend thousands of dollars?
There are thousands of high traffic sites on the Internet where you can market for free. The trick is finding these sites and using them effectively to market your business online.
Your best weapon in finding these sites is Alexa. You can use Alexa, http://www.alexa.com, to search by topic and compare stats on sites, as well as get the traffic ranking of a site.
The point of marketing on high traffic sites is that the more visitors a site has, the more likely you are to be seen. The more you are seen, the more likely someone will click through and visit your site.
Marketing on high traffic sites isn't enough though. The traffic has to be targeted. By targeting your market, and marketing on high traffic sites, you can quickly multiply your traffic and sales.
To get you started, I've included five of the top sites on the internet, with tips on how to market your site effectively so that you can increase your traffic and sales.
1. Yahoo - http://www.yahoo.com 2. MSN - http://www.msn.com 3. Google - http://www.google.com
According to Alexa, these are the top three sites respectively. Although you should make sure that you submit your site to their search engine spiders, which is free, there is a better way to market on these sites.
It's called Groups.
Yahoo Groups - http://www.yahoogroups.com MSN Groups - http://groups.msn.com Google Groups - http://groups.google.com
You'll find thousands of groups at these sites where you can post your articles, advertise your ezines, and submit free classfieds. You'll also find discussion groups on just about any topic you can imagine, and unlike forums, you can conveniently read and reply to messages in your email.
You can share information and build relationships with potential customers. The beauty of these sites is that they spider each other. Yahoo also uses RSS, which can give you an opportunity to become syndicated, especially if you write articles.
Your promotions can quickly become viral.
4. Ebay - http://www.ebay.com - If you sell products and services on Ebay, you can use your About Me page to offer a subscription to your ezine, as well as advertise your website.
You need to follow the instructions on Ebay when using this feature. Build a relationship with both your customers and fellow Ebay marketers. If you haven't considered marketing here, you definitely want to consider marketing it because this site gets over eight million hits a month.
5. Myspace.com - http://www.myspace.com - Although this site considers itself to be noncommercial, and it has strict rules about promoting your products and services, this is an excellent place to network.
You'll find blogs, groups, free classifieds, and forums. You can send and receive email and private messages. There's a search function that allows you to find others with your interests.
As long as you take the time to get to know the site and follow the rules, you can effectively promote your business here by networking with others. You'll need an account, but it's free. You won't be allowed to post for the first seven days, but this is to keep spammers out.
In fact, there are currently over 2,800 business groups here, some with thousands of members, and you can post quite a bit of information in your profile.
If you're on a shoestring marketing budget, you can use these high traffic sites to help you increase traffic and sales to your site.

Effective Traffic Exchange Advertising

Many people will tell you that traffic exchanges are effective. For some this is true depending on the serive or product that they offer. I however, have joined several traffic exchanges, some I have listed on this blog, and have found them on the whole to be very effective way of increasing good quality visitors to my site.

To get the best out of joining traffic exchanges you first need to make sure that your home page is effective at getting your message across, so that people who are reading it will go on to exploreb the rest of your site instead of just cloicking to the next site. You only have a few seconds to grab their attention, so make it clear and to the point of what you offer.

Out of the different types of exchanges, Manual traffic exchanges tend to better at obtaining quality site views because the viewer is having to wait for the timer, but Auto Fraffic Exchanges can play an important role if your goal is to increase your statistics, or if you have adverising on your site and your CTR is too high.

You also have to dedicate time, allow a certain amount of time preferably each day, to do some surfing and earn some credits, if you are a member of different sites, make a list and surf different sites on different days, so to increase your exposure to as many different people as possible.
